Council approves bulk of budget line items amid Parks debate

misc · Meeting of April 28, 2026

CT PROSPECT — Prospect Council advances most 2026-2027 budget line items but rejects summer camp nurse. Chairman Mike Palmerie Jr. and the Council approved nine department budgets at a Tuesday workshop, including Solid Waste at $795,640 and Parks and Recreation at $423,599 after reducing Programs spending to $171,104. The Parks vote drew a divided Council, with five in favor, three opposed, and Palmerie abstaining, chiefly over a proposed summer camp nursing position.

The Library Video line item failed in a tied four-to-four vote. Police and Technology remain deferred.
