Prospect Town Council approves most budget line items

CT PROSPECT — Prospect Town Council approves most budget items in workshop; three tabled for further study. Chairman Mike Palmerie Jr. and the Council unanimously approved most line items totaling more than $2.3 million, including Fire Protection at $532,295, Insurance at $267,665.61, and Hydrants at $204,237. Fire Protection underwent amendment after discussion of a proposed $6,500 cut to the Volunteer Fire Department and rising medical call volumes.

The Council tabled three items for further consideration: Fire Marshal, Police Department, and Solid Waste, with plans to discuss the Police Department and Resident Trooper program immediately after the budget workshop.
