misc · Meeting of April 21, 2026

CT PROSPECT — Prospect Town Council addresses cash flow crisis with transfer and freeze. The Council unanimously approved a $79,953 budget transfer across departments, with the largest allocation of $34,454 for town truck fleet maintenance, amid a severe cash flow problem. Despite maintaining a $1.4 million general fund balance, the town is running three or more months behind on obligations and has implemented a hiring and spending freeze.

Chairman Michael Palmerie Jr. reported that bills are exceeding available funds and the town lacks professional financial structure and timely reporting, hampering the Council's budget decisions. Council members voiced frustration with delayed financial information throughout the meeting.
