Prospect Council approves line-item budget appropriations in special workshop.

Town Council · Meeting of March 17, 2026

CT PROSPECT — Prospect Council approves line-item budgets totaling $1.9 million in special workshop meeting. The Town Council voted unanimously or near-unanimously on departmental appropriations, from $2,425 for the Zoning Board of Appeals to $545,055 for Fire Protection, the largest item under review. Fire Chief Guastaferri explained that escalating equipment costs, particularly the replacement of all 30 Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus units by 2030, drove a $23,000 increase in the fire budget.

Councilman Scott Martin abstained on the Treasurer stipend vote of $11,236; all other appropriations passed without dissent.
