Council tables benefits vote, approves eight department budgets

CT PROSPECT — Council approves eight budget line items at March 24 workshop. The Town Council unanimously approved departmental budgets totaling approximately $2.5 million, including Parks & Recreation at $431,599 and Elections & Registrars at $106,363. Registrar Katie Blinstrubas pushed for salary increases, noting registrars work 13 to 19 hours weekly but earn $19 to $27 per hour versus $44 for other elected officials.

Council member Stan Pilat requested more details on a proposed camp nurse before approving that expansion. The Council tabled Benefits Town Employees pending clarification on pension calculations and insurance renewal terms.
