CT PROSPECT — Prospect planning board advances gun club clubhouse permit while continuing commercial plaza hearing. The Planning and Zoning Commission closed its public hearing on the Prospect Gun Club's special permit application for a clubhouse at 223 Cheshire Road, directing staff to draft a resolution of approval for March 4. President Jerry Williams outlined the 300-member club's requested operating hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, for member-only events.
In a separate action, the commission continued its hearing on a proposed 14,760-square-foot commercial office and retail plaza at 2 Knapp Drive, with the key dispute centering on a proposed access point on Knapp Drive that generated substantial public opposition over traffic concerns; applicant M. Gustaffari indicated willingness to modify or eliminate the access point based on commission direction.
