Prospect Town Council OKs budget transfer amid cash flow crisis

CT PROSPECT — Prospect Town Council unanimously approved a $79,953 budget transfer while addressing acute cash flow problems. The council authorized $79,953 in transfers, with $34,454 allocated to truck fleet maintenance. Chairman Michael Palmerie Jr. disclosed that despite a $1.4 million general fund balance, the town faces acute cash flow with some bills unpaid for three months.

Council member Jessica Hughes questioned the fleet maintenance transfer, and the council has implemented spending and hiring freezes.
