Prospect Town Council orders forensic audit

misc · Meeting of June 2, 2026

CT PROSPECT — Prospect Town Council unanimously votes to authorize independent forensic audit of municipal financial records. Chairman Michael Palmerie Jr., citing a lack of systematic computerized record-keeping since October 2025, and Council Member Scott Martin led the move; the Council had withheld approval of $800,000 in General Fund transfers pending clearer financial data. A four-member subcommittee of Martin, Stan Pilat, Chaka Felder, and Jessica Hughes will draft the RFP and oversee the process before June 30, 2026, with independent auditor Clifton Larson Allen estimating minimum costs of $120,000.

The Council also appointed Gil Graveline as Inland Wetlands Hearing Officer and Mayor Robert Chatfield announced the state granted $200,000 for the Coachlight water line.
